6-Month Check-Up

It’s hard to believe that we are 6 months into this 2-year journey; it’s 25% over already! We are absolutely loving being in South America, but I first want to look back on all we’ve done in H1 2016.

We took a risk jumping into this crazy lifestyle, but it’s been fabulous. Meadows and I have become totally accustomed to hotel and airplane living! Pros: I never have to do laundry or make our bed! Cons: We are constantly packing and missing our family and friends. FOMO (fear of missing out) is a very real challenge that we have to overcome.

As for the two of us, Meadows and I are more of a team than ever! We have very clearly defined roles and responsibilities, not to mention organization systems in place, to make our travel easier. And when we need a break from each other, Netflix saves the day 🙂

Here are our stats from January 1 – June 30:

If I had more patience, I would count the tour guides, road trips, etc… There are just too many to revisit! Instead, I’ll tell you that we’ve made good use of our camera and GoPro (not evidenced by the photos in this post!).

We’ve seen leopards, pet elephants and held sea turtles. We’ve flown on a hot air balloon, visited multiple ancient cities and tried more new foods than I can list. We went from riding a camel around the pyramids in Cairo to standing atop the tallest building in the world in Dubai in under a week! WE SWAM WITH A SHARK …unintentionally! Sometimes we are tired, but mostly we are just excited for the next adventure. BRING ON ANOTHER 6 MONTHS!

And now… a series of airplane selfies, in which Meadows perpetually refuses to smile.
