Meadows’ European project began in London; the team assembled there before dispersing to our separate locations. We took the red eye flight from the US on Sunday night. For the first time this year, I suffered some serious jet lag! Between my US-adjusted body clock and our quick five-day/four-night trip, our time in London flew by so quickly!
We adjusted to the much cooler temperatures (I immediately regretted ever complaining about the Philippines’ heat and humidity!), and dove in head-first for five action-packed days of reunions.
First, we kicked off the week with a team breakfast at our hotel. The kind team at Le Meridien even whipped up some Coke-themed treats for us! It was awesome to catch up with Meadows’ teammates and some of the other wives – we hadn’t seen most of them in a while!
Our first two nights in town, we met up with our favorite London residents, Lindsey and Sean. We felt so incredibly lucky to get to spend quality time with some of our favorite people. And what’s even better? We got to meet the newest member of their crew – only ten days old!! Naturally, we got a selfie with her 🙂
She is so tiny and perfect, and we couldn’t love her more! Additionally, it was good for us to hang out with old friends and to spend time in a home (…not a hotel).
On our final evening in London, we went to a giant team dinner with some employees from the London office. This was one of those nights with an unbelievably long table, full of laughs and drinks. A smaller group made it to the bar later – something we might regret if the company weren’t so good.
Somewhere in the midst of our quick trip, I managed to soak up some of London. I walked around and enjoyed reliving memories from past trips (like climbing these lions during a bike tour).
Even though the trip was quite the whirlwind, we had an awesome time in London (as always). Thankfully, we’ll be back at the end of the project for another week (…after our six weeks in Madrid). But first: Prague for our anniversary weekend!
Another blog to start my day ! You two are covering countries in a “whirlwind”
but I’m right there with you. Love, G.
